What this area controls

The customer team area is where customer admins invite additional users into the customer workspace and assign the access level each person needs.

It also supports manager relationships, so the customer side can keep a visible reporting structure for future approval or escalation workflows.

  • Invite customer users by email
  • Assign customer roles such as admin, project manager, or billing manager
  • Set optional manager relationships
  • Review the customer hierarchy graph

Before you start

  • You must be a customer admin to invite or manage customer users
  • The customer workspace should be active if you want to send new invites
  • Know the minimum access level each user actually needs before inviting them

How roles are best used

  • Use Admin only for the people who manage the workspace itself
  • Use Project Manager for people who need to manage delivery-side coordination
  • Use Billing Manager for people who mainly need billing and invoice context

Recommended invite flow

  1. Invite the core customer admin first.
  2. Add supporting project or billing users after the workspace is stable.
  3. Assign manager relationships only after the main user list is in place.
  4. Review the hierarchy graph to make sure the reporting chain is clear and loop free.

Best way to get the most value

  • Keep roles as narrow as possible
  • Do not assign managers casually. Use the hierarchy only where reporting or approval visibility matters
  • Review the team when people change responsibilities
  • Keep customer-side access clean before billing or support workflows scale up

What benefit it delivers

  • Better access control on the customer side
  • Cleaner user ownership for billing and delivery reviews
  • A visible customer hierarchy for future approval chains
  • Less confusion about who should act on what
